Well, I've got some free time, so I figured I'd see how my predictions are going so far in the MLB this year.
First things first, I have to talk about the Mariners. They are the biggest disappointment of the season so far, they have a solid team, but no consistency. They have plenty of time to make up ground, and I believe they will make it up and win the division. They have the best pitching rotation in the West, and I think they have the team to come back and make a run at the division. Cliff Lee and King Felix are going to pull through...trust me.
Now, to get to the Red Sox. I have said on a couple of Big Ty's blogs that the Red Sox would go on a run and get themselves back into the division...they did. They swept the Rays and got themselves back into contention. They are beginning to put everything together with their pitching and hitting with runners in scoring position. The key is David Ortiz, he's hitting again, and if he's hitting, the Red Sox lineup becomes even more fierce.
Also, the Mets swept the Phillies, which out them out only 2 games. The Mets have AMAZING depth with their pitching and their lineup. Yeah, Maine is on the DL...he shouldn't be, but he is, but even with him on the DL the Mets pitching is being led by Johan Santana and Mike Pelfrey. R.A. Dickey has even revived his career! These Mets are looking strong, and I expect (as I said) them to win the division.
Baseball is all about who is LESS streaky over the course of the season, the best team is the one who is consistent, not the one who is hot. A good team wins in the clutch and in the pressure situations...what team is that this year?
